The Plan

plan_overall

The plan is to go clockwise around the coastline starting out on the East coast of Central Florida.  The timeline is roughly dictated upon where I want to hunker down during the winter months.  I’m hoping to boondock somewhere that I can afford a season pass and snowboard all season.  The route is subject to change at any time, but will most likely stick to this route.

Leg One

The South

The first leg of the trip.  This will be the quick learning curve.  I’ll cruise through familiar territory in Florida to work out all the kinks, stopping at as many cable parks and dirt bike tracks as possible.  I’m going to take full advantage of the time of year and head to a few college football games as well.  There’s one thing about class B campers, they make ultimate tailgate machines.  So I’ll be putting her to the test.  The route brings me right back up to central Florida which will give me an opportunity to make a quick run to the East coast for any modifications or repairs that I might encounter in the shakedown.

I’ll make my way to the panhandle and continue West.  I’m planning on spending halloween in New Orleans.  Then continuing West and nothing really planned after that.  My only plan is to get out to Colorado when the snow hits to take full advantage of my Epic season pass; which gives me full access to all the vail resorts.  I’ll hop around from mountain to mountain until the season is over.  Then I’ll start leg two.

Merritt Island, FL

Leg Two

The West

This leg is the one I’m most anticipating.  Gorgeous deserts, dirt bike paradise, Baja, surfing, what more could someone ask for?  I’ll start out at the end of snow season, maybe even a bit earlier to avoid the hot weather.  Las Vegas is probably the first stop to try and get some gas money.  Then I’ll back track East a bit to check out Arizona.  I’ll shoot out to San Diego to link up with some friends and we all plan to go down Baja together.  I’ll take the Summer and Fall to make my way back up the coast in search for the next camp for Winter.  Lake Tahoe is the plan as of now, but it’s not even close to set in stone.

Lake Tahoe, CA

Leg Three

The North

I don’t have much of a plan for this leg of the trip.  I just wanted to make my way out to New York while stopping at some cities I’ve always wanted to visit, but would rarely get the chance.  I’m still not sure if I’m going to spend the winter in Lake Tahoe or venture further North, but there are a few spots I’d love to hit during the Winter (Seattle, Whistler, etc.).  Yellowstone is a must with all trips in that area.  I’m really hoping to catch a bunch of great NFL games on this leg and see some historic stadiums.  I have a bunch of family in New York and New Jersey that I don’t get to see too often, so I plan on taking my time and spend the Winter there.  This will kind of be the wind down and prepare for making the last stretch back home.

Lake Tahoe, CA

New York, NY

Leg Four

The East

This is the last leg of the trip.  As soon as it gets warm enough to bare the ocean I’ll start this leg.  For this leg I plan on just riding the coast the whole way down.  It may be slow, but what’s the rush.  By now I’ll be feeling the pressure of the trip ending, so hopefully there will be some good waves to keep me occupied.  I have no clue what’s going to happen after I get back, but I’m sure I’ll know by this time.
